You have a choice of two thematic routes presenting key works of the exhibition.
The "Visionary" route is inspired by the work and ideas of the Czech avant-garde artist Zdeněk Pešánek. In his text Kineticism in Fine Art – Coloured Music, which he began writing in 1924 “as a contribution to the struggle for new art forms”, Pešánek sets out diverse principles and methods drawn from his artistic practice.
Through his theories, Pešánek opened the way to interactive multimedia projects and environments that foreshadowed the evolution of New Media Art. His modernist premises broke with tradition by encouraging the application of modern technologies, new materials and technical procedures. Through his own works, and a selection of thirteen works by artists of following generations, we invite you to explore the art of the future as Pešánek had imagined it a hundred years ago.
With our "Play" tour, you can explore the playful side of the exhibition. Selected works are interactive and you can influence them with your movement, voice, or shadow. Would you like to become part of a sky with flying birds, induce dreaming with a Dreamachine, or cycle in a city of words? The Play tour will guide you around twelve works which make you think and engage with them. At the end of the tour you can create your own light graffiti on our Art Wall, try out various art approaches in Kidshalle, and relax in The Tower.
Without creative visitors there is no creative work. PLAY NOW!
